The proportion of Nigerians who disapprove of President Bola Tinubu’s handling of the country dropped only 10 percentage points to 36% this January, down from 46% last November.

That puts the government’s approval rating at 53%, an upward tick from 41% approval rating recorded in November.

January is the first time approval rating for the government has gone up in over a quarter of a year.

From September to November last year, approval rating dipped from 51% to 41%.
