Nelly Nwaka' Ohuche

Head, Corporate Communications

Nelly Nwaka’ Ohuche is a distinguished communications leader with over two decades of experience spanning broadcast media, journalism, and public relations. In her current role as Head of Corporate Communications and Knowledge Management at NOIPolls, she directs strategic planning, creative content development, and high-level stakeholder engagement. She specializes in the dissemination of research data, notably spearheading communications for Afrobarometer (Rounds 8–10) in Nigeria and producing the "Data Chat" radio program to translate complex public opinion into actionable insights.

Demonstrating her expertise in impact-driven storytelling, Nelly served as the Producer for the 5-series documentary for Women in Public Health Leadership for Africa (WIPHLA). Her extensive broadcast career includes leadership and hosting roles at Greetings 105.7FM, Max 90.9FM, and Magic 102.9FM. A dedicated advocate for social issues, she was the Executive Producer and Host of the gender-focused radio program, True Divas. Her diverse professional background also encompasses early-career journalism at Champions Newspapers and managing PR for high-profile entertainment brands.

Nelly’s academic foundation is both deep and diverse. She is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan and is currently pursuing a Professional Master’s in Gender Studies at Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Her technical expertise is rooted in a Certificate in Broadcast Presentation from the National Broadcast Academy, Lagos. She has further expanded her specialised skill set with certifications in Public Relations and Communications Management, Humanitarian Aid, Supporting Victims of Domestic Violence, and Women and Children's Health.

An Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (ANIPR), Nelly is driven by a passion for social progress and informed decision-making. Outside of her professional life, she is a keen enthusiast of African history and archaeology.
